Landscape Renovation in Glenwood
One of our favorite type of landscape projects is a renovation where we tear out old, overgrown plants that don’t work in the space, and replace them with more appropriate, low maintenance plants. Here we did a redesign of the entire landscape. Much of the existing landscape was transplanted and worked into the new design.
The front was planted with:
‘Purple de Oro’ daylilies – Hemerocallis
Inkberry holly – Ilex glabra
New England aster – Aster novae-angliae
Blue eyed grass – Sisyrinchium angustifolium
Bleeding heart – Dicentra eximia
Bluestar – Amsonia tabernaemontana
‘Purple Beauty Moss phlox – Phlox subulata
‘Snowdrift’ false spirea – Astilbe
‘Autumn Brilliance’ Serviceberry – Amelanchier canadensis
Christmas fern – Polystichum achrostichoides
‘Green Spice’ coral bells – Heuchera americana
‘Concord Grape’ spiderwort – Trandescantia
The back was planted with:
Henry’s Garnet sweetspire- Itea virginica
Indian pink – Spigelia marilandica
Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry – Amelanchier canadensis
Purple Coneflower – Echinacea purpurea
Swamp milkweed – Asclepias incarnata
Gayfeather – Liatris spicata
Blue flag iris- Iris versicolor
Inkberry holly – Ilex glabra
‘Hummingbird’ Summersweet – Clethra alnifolia
‘Mt Airy’ Fothergilla – Fothergilla gardenii
Butterflyweed – Asclepias tuberosa
‘American Dream’ tickseed – Coreopsis rosea
