Custom Cut Curvy Bluestone Walkway

This client asked us to install a walkway to help redirect their guests to the front door. They wanted something that would hold up over time but look nicer than cement. We covered their cement porch with bluestone as well. We removed the outdated, worn brick walkway that was there and turned the project into 2 separate walkways so that visitors would be directed to the front door instead of the side door. We also revamped the front garden by installing caramel heuchera, EB anderson lungwort, goldmound spirea, PJM elite rhododendron, autumn brilliance serviceberry, and autumn fern. These were all deer resistant, part shade selections to add all season interest to the landscape. We also installed a rain garden to collect water coming from the garage roof and driveway. The rain garden will be eligible for reimbursement from the County so the couple will receive $1200 back for the cost of install. We planted the rain garden as a meadow plant community planting which is a little different that your typical massed plantings. We interplanted red and blue lobelia, little bluestem, black eyed susan, iris and amsonia. The rain garden will be full or gorgeous blooms summer- fall. It’ll have nice colors, textures and heights throughout the year and will attract pollinators and provide food for them!
