Fall Flowers for Your Gardens and Containers

Fall is the perfect time to plant for a variety of reasons. Planting now helps plants establish their root system, store water and store nutrients over winter. An established root system helps plants with growth in the spring and summer and helps defend against the heat of the summer sun. Planting now also let’s us keep the life of beautiful blooms a little longer. Many native plants bloom in late summer and through fall, keeping your garden colorful with gorgeous blossoms. Some flowers that can liven up your garden in the fall include:

Perennials come back every year– some good ones are goldenrod, liatris, annabelle hydrangea, vernonia,  coneflowers, coreopsis, heuchera, amsonia, asters. What are your favorite fall flowers?

Annuals need to be planted each fall- mums, asters,  pansies, violas, purple fountain grass, red bor kale. Here are some pictures of fall flowers that we have recently installed!
